my how time flies

i can hardly believe that it was one year ago that i graduated college. i love these two ladies and i am so happy to have shared that day with them. what a wonderful day it was. i am so proud of the accomplishments i have made throughout my life. i am so grateful to have finished my degree and fulfilled that HUGE goal i made so long ago. of course i wish tyler was going to walk tomorrow, but he wasn't interested in it after sitting through my ceremonies. oh well. we have our diplomas and we will display them proudly. congrats to all of our friends who are graduating this weekend! we are SO proud of you!

mother's day

we started our day off with breakfast for cindy. german pancakes, fruit, eggs and maple smoked bacon. it was delish. it was a lovely morning. birds chirping, good company and yummy food.
happy mother's day cindy, we love you!

then after church we headed to my parent's house to celebrate my mom's birthday and mother's day... that's why she has a large dose of gifts.

it was kimmy's first mother's day! we had a lovely southern style meal complete with strawberry shortcake. i love the picture of all of us girls. SO cute. it seems fitting that the first grandchild on the pitts side is a girl...

happy mother's day mom. i love you tons! and happy mother's day to you kimberly. you are a wonderful mommy!

beach day with the olsen's

you might remember the olsen family from this post.

even before i met christina i loved her. i remember talking to her on the phone when tyler and i were engaged. she made an effort to get to know me even before we were married. she is tyler's cousin and she was very pregnant with ava when we got married so she couldn't come down for the wedding. when they moved to LA for justin to attend dental school at usc we were so excited.
this weekend we met them at the beach to celebrate justin's graduation and also to spend some time with them before they move across the country. our last beach day with the olsens. what a treat it was to have them all to ourselves, but what a sad day it will be when we can't just hop in the car and party in the city!
over the last four years we have grown to love these four so dearly and i really cannot imagine life without them. christina is a wonderful example to me & i love being around her. she is just the sweetest. justin is hilarious and such a hard worker. being a father of two and dominating dental school is hard work! and yara and ava are the cutest, sweetest, prettiest little girls. i have loved seeing them grow up. i can't believe how big they are getting!
at the end of the month they will be moving on to washington, d.c. where justin will do his residency in oral surgery. we are so proud of him! we wish them all the happiness in the world in their new home. as you know, we love d.c. so we will be visiting as soon as we can! spring just isn't the same without a trip to see the cherry blossoms.
we love you olsen family and we are so excited for your new adventure out east.

happy mothers day

make sure to stop on over here to see more of the adorable robinson family.
and of course baby luke's luscious cheeks!

happy friday and happy mothers day! where would we be without the wonderful women in our lives? how grateful i am for all of the "mothers" in my life. i just hope that someday i can be the kind of mother that i want to be. the kind of mother like the many women who mothered me over the years. the kind of mother who remembers all of the inspiring examples in her life. the kind of mother who cherishes her calling and role as the nurturer in her home. the kind of mother who appreciates her life and the opportunity to love and grow along with her family. the kind of mother who understands the great plan of happiness.
i thank Heavenly Father for mothers. what a blessing they are in our lives.

my evening with jessica

after far too long of being apart, my dear friend jessica and i got together last night for some much needed catching up. it was a lovely evening with food, frozen yogurt, browsing through vintage shops and enjoying the beautiful weather down at the orange circle. it felt so good to see jessica again. she is a good friend from high school that i have made many many memories with. many memories that are probably quite embarrassing, yet very dear to my heart.

the moment

SO glad it's friday and SO glad that i am not sick! last weekend i was hit with some sort of bacteria/virus that caused a fever and had me headed to the bathroom every hour. luckily the dr. gave me some antibiotics and i am all back to normal. yesterday was my first day of feeling and eating completely normal. thank goodness. you never realize just how much you need food until you can't really eat anything at all.

so today i leave you with these lovely photos from my afternoon with brylee. it was a pleasure as always. i just can't get enough of my little niece. she is just the sweetest little thing on the planet. seriously. after her nap, when i got her out of her crib she rested her head on my shoulder for a moment. that moment just plain melted my heart. brylee girl, i love you far far more than i ever anticipated. thanks for hanging out with me!
