he tried peas for the first time and loved them! it's so fun watching him try new things! and he loves to eat, wonder where he gets that from?

a la minute

we got to spend some time with our friends jessica and patrick down at the orange circle tonight. it was an insanely delicious evening. we ate dinner at smoqued... which is quickly becoming my new favorite place for bbq and then headed to a la minute for liquid nitrogen ice cream! it was so so so good and unique too. my mouth is watering right now just thinking about it. man, i need some more of that deliciousness! the weather was nice, rockwell was well behaved and we got to spend time with great friends. can't wait to do it again!

an evening in manhattan beach

when we found out our favorite pizza place, grimaldi's, opened in el segundo we just had to go down and check it out. i didn't get a picture of the pizza, i just wanted to enjoy my meal, but it was delicious. after dinner we drove down to the manhattan beach pier and watched the sunset. it was so perfect. we walked through the little aquarium at the end of the pier and then got some ice cream at cute little dessert place up the street. it was a fantastic day. a perfect california spring night!

the county fair

for our first weekend back in california we hit up the orange county fair with the caldwell's and the mulroney's. we love being back close to family and friends. the day was perfect. sunshine, overeating, a cool sea breeze and lots of people watching. i love this tradition!

graduation dinner for jack

jack graduated high school. we went out to dinner to celebrate. we ate yummy food. we took fun photos afterwards. mom sat in something brown while wearing white pants. we are all proud of jack.

our foreign friends

tyler's mission companion, his sister, her husband and her sister-in-law came to visit us in vegas all the way from france and greece! first off, they all had amazing accents. why couldn't i have been from some exotic place? i would be SO much cooler! we took them to grimaldi's for pizza, down to the strip and to the hoover damn the next morning before they headed to the grand canyon. they spent 3 weeks touring the united states and i am super jealous. they've seen more of my country in 3 weeks than i have in 26 years! i need to get on it! also, tyler and i have decided that we have to go to europe now. for reals.

my first time

i finally ate off of a gourmet food truck this week! have you ever done it? when i worked for my dad's sign company we did quite a few vinyl truck wraps and i always wanted to try, i just never got around to it. then last time i was visiting california i noticed that they advertised for tuesday night food trucks at my old high school. this time we made the time for it and i am sure glad that we did. SO yummy!!! now i just want to try them all!
