From Chunk to Dunk

SO here it is... the infamous Christmas dunk. For those of you who weren't aware Tyler made a goal this fall to dunk a basketball (for the first time ever) on Christmas day. He is so proud and so were the rest of us who were cheering from the side lines. It was a great goal and even better that he accomplished it with a lot of discipline and hard work. Thank goodness he did otherwise that day might not have been such a happy one! :)

Christmas Goodies!

Okay so this past weekend I baked with my mom and my grandma and I had an amazing time! It was really fun to be creative for the first time in a long time! I have never been an artistic person, but I really like it when things are pretty so dipping chocolate, drizzling, and sprinkling is totally my thing! It is so easy and super fun. Here are a few of the things that I created! I am so proud of it all I had to post these pics!!!

Happy December...

Well december is finally here and the Christmas season is in full swing. Tyler likes to say that I have turned into a "Christmas Elf" and I am thinking that he is right. I really do love this time of year. Maybe it is because I am always cold and this time of year gives me the excuse to wear all of my cute coats and use my blankets. Or maybe it's because of the music, the lights, the family, the parties, the food, and the love. Either way I love this season and Tyler is getting used to the fact that I am really crazy about it. It is our first Christmas as a married couple and I just want you all to know that we got through our first christmas tree buying experience with minimal arguing! haha. We picked out the first tree we saw and I only broke a couple things while I was putting the lights on the tree. I was bummed, but the tree ended up looking really amazing if I do say so myself! I am pretty proud of my pretty tree! I hope all of you have a happy season and don't stress too much so that you get to enjoy these fun times!

Thanksgiving Comfort

Thanksgiving was great for Tyler and Amy Rex. We started our day at my parents house and had dinner with my family and grandparents. It was fun cooking for the first time. I made a homemade pumpkin, pumpkin pie and I also made some stuffing from scratch. I felt like a grown up. It was fun! We also got a video of some family madness when ants started to attack the pies. Danielle was recording the whole thing with her camera and no one even knew it. I will let you know if it shows up on you tube. :)

After we finished at the Pitts house we went out ot LA to eat with the Rex's. We had so much fun at Christina and Justin's place. They have a really really cute place and we're excited that they are here and so close.

This year we are both grateful to have good family and friends around us. We are blessed with so much.

We also got a new couch on friday! Besides our desk, it is the only piece of furniture we actually bought for our place. Our wonderful family and friends gave us most of our furniture so we got really lucky, but we were excited to finally get something for ourselves. We love it! It is so comfy!

Sorry if it cuts off the couch... for some reason the blog isn't cooperating today (at least on my computer). I'll try to put the pics on later and see if it actually works.

viva la vida

So a huge blessing came into my life when Coldplay announced that they were adding one more stop to their tour. They just so happened to add a show at The Honda Center where my dad has season tickets and therefore gets tickets to pretty much every event there. Me, my sisters Kimberly and Danielle and my good friend Jessica got to go see Coldplay and it was amazing as expected. I am so amazed at how talented some people are when it comes to music. Music is such a blessing in my life. I love to basque in the goodness of creativity through music. What a talented group Coldplay is. I think they are officially my favorite band... and let me tell you, becoming my favorite band is not an easy task. Here is to Coldplay and all of their wonderous-ness. They never cease to amaze me.

Hawaii... finally

I am terrribly sorry that it took me so long to post these pictures. Life has been busy and the semester is coming to a close which means projects, papers, finals, and me being really tired and not doing anything as soon as I get a free moment. Tyler has been bugging me to get on the ball and update the blog so here it is. :) Enjoy. And if you want me to email you any of these photos just let me know!

THe Happiest Place

Well we are still alive! I know it has been a while since I have blogged and golly gee have I missed it! Well it feels good. We are definitely keeping busy with school and work and all of the many other things that we are involved in. We have had some great times lately with family and friends. We have seen some good movies (we saw eagle eye last night and it was so excellent! Tyler and I were both thoroughly impressed), we have made a couple trips to disneyland with friends and family, and we got to go to a Galaxy Game! We are very blessed to live so close to so many beautiful people and places. Right now our big excitement is getting ready for Paradise. In just 3 short days we are taking off to Oahu! Ryan Rex and Kristen Warren have decided to be married and we are so very happy for them! We are also grateful that they live in such a wonderful place and that we can afford to make the trip out there. We will get to see a lot of the Rex family members and we will also get to see Shira and Devin, my cousins! LIfe is good and we are happy. Here are some pics of the last few weeks for your viewing pleasure!

Las Brisas

So this past week was wonderful! We had the normal school and work stuff, but we also got to do some fun stuff. I got to hang out with Lauren and get my nails done and skype with Jessica! We got to see Regan (Tyler's good friend) and Lauren and have taco night. MY guac turned out to be more magical than ever before! And we also got to go to Las Brisas in Laguna Beach to have dinner with Regan and Logan (Regan's cousin). Las Brisas is the restaurant that Tyler took me to before he proposed last summer on 7.7.07. It was fun to go back there and enjoy good food and good company and good memories. I love Tyler and I am so happy that we had such a good week. He and I have been working hard and I am proud of us for staying on top of all of our school and work responsibilities sand still have some fun!

Boys of summer

Hello there fellow bloggers. I just wanted to let you know that we are still alive. We work, go to school, eat, and sleep (a little bit) as of now. The summer is officially over for us and all the others who attend college in Fullerton, CA. We are still trying to have fun and fit a little relaxation time in, but its gonna get crazy once the emams come about. Tyler is working really hard, the bugs don't seem to want to go away so for now we are both busy, but happy. We are happy to have had such a wonderful summer. Thank you to all who spent time with us and brightened our warm summer days!

Stairway to Heaven...

I think the photos will speak for themselves, but we went to visit Escalante, Utah last weekend and it was ridiculouly beautiful. It rained while we were there, we went on two gnarly hikes, we jumped into pools of mountain spring water, I had a bubble bath, we went to a rodeo, we blew things up, shot stuff, pretty much off-roaded in Loren's Tahoe, and we listened to what Spencer considers the best rock and roll band of all time. It was a sweet trip. We all loved it. We are all officially Americans now.

I can't live... with or without you...

Today was the last day. Tomorrow is the morning of the departure. My dear friend Jessica Lynn Druck is "going to san francisco" (hopefully she remembers to wear a flower in her hair). And I, like the song, (surprisingly enough) hope she does meet some gentle people there... Even though I don't really like to share her. I am going to miss her like crazy. I can't believe she is really leaving. It is really weird... I have been buddies with her for years and I can't think of a single thing about the last 7 years without Jessica running through my head. It is so strange to know that we are growing up and changing our lives so much. It seems as though "real life" just tends to sneak up on you and you just have to deal. It is kind of like a flash flood or something. You don't know that it is coming, but once it's here you figure something out and life goes on.
I just want to say how much I admire Jessica. She is a wonderful lady and I swear she is going to be famous for her creative humor someday, but if not, she will always be a superstar in my book. She is the spagetti to my meatballs, the sixteen to my candles, the dirty to my dancing. I love her. She will forever be in my heart and I will never forget her and I won't let something as silly as what seems like a bajillion miles between us change too much. Friends are an amazing gift always to be treasured. What a blessing and a light Jessica has been to me. What a blessing so many are to me...

Lean like a...

We went to a quincinera on saturday night and it was out of control. It was for Freddy's (from work) daughter. It was pretty bangin!

Family Dinner

Family dinner was really really fun last weekend! Christina and Justin brought their two beautiful girlies and Justin and Jenny Dalton brought their two cute kids! It was refreshing, hilarious and entertaining to have little kids there. I loved it. Hyrum and I took some good pics!

Lovers in Japan

Monday July 17, 2008 marks the Day that I saw Coldplay at the Forum. I cannot even begin to put into words how insanely awesome it was. I would pay thousands of dollars again and again. It was ridiculous!

Happy Birthday Dad!

Friday night we all went out for my dad's 55th Birthday celebration at Ruby's on the pier. It was a blast of course and we all ate way too much! It was a really nice night and I think everyone enjoyed themselves.
Tyler of course had to ask the waitress for the kids menu so that he could build this little car. He played with it the whole time we were eating. He even put his dipping sauce in there. His inner child comes out often these days.

Sailing, Seafood, and Sawdust

Last Saturday we got to go sailing at Balboa with cousins Spencer Rex and Hyrum Brady, Spencer's friend Loren and Tyler's mom and dad. Grandpa Brady came, but he napped in the car pretty much the whole time. We all took turns riding the laser and it was my first time sailing and I have to say I did pretty well sitting there on the bow of the boat. hehe.

After we went sailing Tyler, Spencer, Loren and I met up with my mom and dad at the crab cooker. Our waitress was so cool, her name was Ginger. Tyler and I are now thinking we might have to name our daughter after her. :)

After The Crab Cooker we went down to the saw dust festival and saw a man blow glass and checked out a bunch of sweet booths! There were soooo many cool ones! I posted a couple pics of some of the cool ones.

You're a grand old flag

Here are some pictures from the fourth. Tyler, me, Danielle, my dad, kim, morgan, and tiffany all woke up way too early and participated in the 5/10 k firecracker run/walk. Danielle and Tyler made it all 6 miles without stopping and I made it 3 miles without stopping! It was sweet. Afterwards we all went our separate ways and then ended up at Kim and Morgan's for a BBQ. After that we went to the park and watched fire works and chillaxed with friends and family.
