Happy Birthday Luke

After Julia + Aaron's wedding celebrations Jessica and Mike invited us over to their place to celebrate Luke's 6Th Birthday. We had pizza, cupcakes and a pinata. Owen was so cute guarding his candy from everyone. And the slip n slide that we bought Luke was a big hit until it got ripped! It was only like $8 so I didn't feel too bad about it.

I'm a Planner

I plan. I have a planner that I keep in my purse and I write down everything I have to do each day. Because of this my brain kind of likes to plan ahead. I like to plan things that wont happen for years. Like what kind of house I want, what color I want to paint the walls, what flowers will I plant outside, what will I name my children and the list goes on and on. So here is something I am brainstorming about. Kind of lame, but it is what it is I suppose.

So I already kind of know what diaper bag I want. SUPER lame I know, but my cousin Shira and I were browsing at Nordstrom one time and I saw a Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bag and I fell in LOVE. So I can't decide between these three. Good thing I have at least 2 years to think it over. ;)

Summer Time

Since the wedding craze is finally over I have thoroughly enjoyed some time off. We have just been laying low and taking it easy. Basically enjoying the fact that our weekends are not already filled with plans.
Tyler and I have both registered for the Fall semester... it will be the first semester of his bachelors and my last. Looks like my goal of graduating with honors this year is going to happen, which I have to admit I am kind of sad about. Graduating just seems very bittersweet to me right now. The idea just kind of weirds me out. School has been a part of my life for almost 20 years. Now I know why people just become perpetuating students... it feels strange to close that chapter when it has been such a long and important one. Being a student is just one of my many roles/identities, but with out it I would not be the person I am today. I am really going to miss it. But although I will be done with my bachelors I plan to attend Photography classes in the spring and continue to learn and develop more skills and talents so the student in me can relax a little.
I started my summer class last week. So far it is really interesting. I am learning all about Nutrition so it is all very useful. It has made me realize how much my body needs good fuel for all of the tasks that it needs to carry out everyday. After my incessant reading the last two weeks I wonder how so many people stay alive when they don't eat right, smoke and drink. The body is truly a magical thing.
So my summer days are mostly filled with work or studying. Some dates, beach trips and weekend vacations are being squeezed in here and there so we are still enjoying ourselves.
Photo blogs from the many activities of June/July soon to come!

Colton's 1st Birthday

Shira and Devin (mostly Shira) Dickson put on a great 1st birthday party for little Colton. Shira did a great job with the food and the decor and the location was pretty sweet too. Everyone swam and had a blast. Great job Shira!!!

Here are the pics I took of the parteeeey...

P.S. Shira and I did NOT mean to wear the same outfit. We actually bought those shirts at the same time so it was only a matter of time before we showed up somewhere looking like twinners! :)

Danielle and Greg are Married too! 7.2.10

Well... while trying to recover from Julia + Aaron's wedding weekend I was preparing for my baby sister's wedding day. The week was crazy to say the least, but the end result was totally worth it. Every little detail came together so beautifully... I am so happy. The weather was perfect and everyone arrived looking perfect. The day started with Katie coming to do my hair, then off to MAC I went to get my make up done. I got dressed and off to the Newport Beach Temple we went. It was a beautiful sealing and I am so happy I could be there with them. Everyone changed clothes and headed out to wait for the couple to make their appearance. We took some pics at the Temple and then headed to the Turnip Rose. That is where Tyler and I had our reception... it is a magical place. I LOVE it there. Everything looked great and my mom assembled the cake while the wedding party took photos out in the courtyard. The reception started with an hour of apetizers and drinks. Then we moved into the ball room for the party. I gave my toast without crying... did not think that would happen. The video montage that I made worked... there was a small technical difficulties that were over come luckily. We danced, ate and danced some more. It was a wonderful day. I am so happy for Danielle and Greg. Thank you for making me a part of your special day!!!
