ladies only

After Shira had Colton she told me she thought she would be the mother of boys, she couldn't really picture herself with a daughter. But when she found out she was having a girl she was, of course, over the moon about it. Janae threw her a great shower on Saturday.

After the shower Shira wanted some pics of just her & her baby belly. The lighting/landscape wasn't what I preferred so I told her she has to let me take her out to do a proper shoot before baby girl arrives.

vote. vote. vote

The Steelwells are a very special group. Not only because we have two family members in the group, but because they are musically talented like no one else. They are an amazingly talented group of guys who work really hard and treat their fans well. They are always graceful and kind and they make music that sounds as if it was sent from above. They are truly a gifted group and their talent never ceases to amaze me. They have been entered into a contest by Rolling Stone Magazine as one of the best 16 unsigned bands in the nation. They need as many votes as they can get in order to win. If they win they would be on the cover of Rolling Stone, perform on Jimmy Fallon and get tons of media coverage. Please give them 5 stars because they definitely deserve it. Don't trust me? Just listen to their stuff and you will become a believer.

i want more

Valentines Day was radical. We were lovey dovey, he got me flowers, I got him cookies, we ate at Houstons, we cuddled, we kissed, we ate a hot fudge sundae, we laughed and we had to put on stretchy pants as soon as we got home.

By the way, if you're ever in Irvine and you want to be blown away... eat at Houston's. It was insane. The french dip was to die for. I literally start salivating every time I think about it. I can't wait to go back. Or I guess I can't wait until our wallets can afford to go back... lots.

bad habits

Last week, after looking at a blog that had many entires regarding hamburgers & fries I had a serious craving. So after work I went here.

It's right across from CSUF, off of Nutwood & the 57 fwy. You. Wont. Regret. It.

the son

My parents had 3 lovely girls before they were blessed with a boy. My brother Jack is a great kid. He turned 16 last week. I cannot believe how the time has flown by. I remember my mom being sick during her pregnancy. I remember piles of laundry in the family room because she was so tired and sick to do much of anything. I remember the day she was in labor and that we went to some little chinese restaurant in Yorba Linda. And I still remember the way he smelled when my parents brought him home from the hospital. Whenever I watch old home videos of all of us together my heart hurts because of his cuteness. To celebrate we went to Rainforest Cafe and had sundaes at mom & dad's. Happy Birthday baby brother. I love you.

paper hearts

Today is the day. The day dreaded by all single people and probably some non-single people as well. Yes, Valentines Day is a cute idea. I like that people have a day where they can express their love to their significant other & be all cutesy. But honestly, it gets a little inconvenient for those of us who just had Christmas, an anniversary and a hubbies birthday.
But this is how it will be for the rest of time and some how we (more like I) have got to figure out how to make it a special day without breaking the (still recuperating) bank. So here are a few of the things I'm doing to make it a little bit more LOVE-ly around here today...

-Ask him to be my valentine
-Give him lots of extra kisses & hugs
-Paint my nails red
-Wear a red top
-Lovingly accept his little paper heart he made me last night at midnight as he asked me to be his valentine
-Pick out a super cute/funny card
-Cuddle with him
-Come home from work and get all gussied up
-Be his date to a semi-fancier-than-normal dinner

Yes, we still love each other even though we don't get up at the crack of dawn to make heart shaped pancakes for each other. And no, I don't really have the time or the patience to decorate our apartment with paper hearts and candies, but I do love my valentine. He is pretty darn cute & I can hardly wait to get all pretty and go out on a date with him.

My dear Valentine,

Love,
Amy

Dr. Steve

His amazing wife threw him a rockin party over at the district in tustin. we bowled, laughed, ate and danced, of course. Note: I am a TERRIBLE bowler. However, I do recall getting like 2 spares. But every other turn I was lucky to get a couple pins down. Our ward has really grown in the last couple years. We are super lucky to have made so many bomb-diggity friends.

ava, dogs & the color blue

Cousin Christina put on a birthday party for sweet Ava. She did turn 3 after all. Apparently Christina tried to get some ideas of what kind of party Ava would want and all she could get out of her was dogs & the color blue. So that is what she got. We headed out to LA for some face painting, capri suns (what Tyler claims as the necessary item at every child's party), pictures of puppies, birthday cake and presents. Plus super cute kiddos that we love and adore.

P.S. Tyler painted the boys faces & Yara's "puppy" turned lumber jack face. Maybe he should stay in school?

Happy Birthday sweet Ava. Thanks for inviting us to your party...We love you so very much!
