If you didn't already know...

It's fall. This means I busted out my decorations. I'm loving it.

So I had a little gathering with my gal pals to celebrate the Fall season. Filled with candy corn, pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, apple cider and good conversation.

The Crew

On September 11th we went to the Galaxy game with Nate and Rachel... just one of the many lovely couples that lives in our complex. It was an extra special game because Tyler and Nate's friend from high school, Stephen Lenhart, plays for The Columbus Crew. We were also in attendance for Beckham's first game back after his injury last fall. We got to see Stephen after the game and I didn't think he would remember me. We met a LONG time ago when Tyler and I were dating. I was on a lunch break and Tyler and I went to Souplantation... that is where I met him. Big blonde afro and all. That was close to 4 years ago. When I went to say hi to him after the game I shook his hand and said "You probably don't remember me... we met at...." and then we both said in unison "Souplantation". It was hilarious. I'm really just glad he remembered me. I feel like I can always remember people, especially men, and they can meet me multiple times and ask me my name EVERY time I see them. It makes me feel very unmemorable. Anyway. It was a great game. We scored and got to sit with his family right behind the goal.

These were our original seats... but instead we got to sit back there behind that goal with the Lenhart crew. It was sweet.

Apples

A few weeks ago I went with my gal pals to apple country. We ate way too many apple donuts, bought caramel apples and sat in rocking chairs. It was great fun. I love these ladies.

SD round two

So we went to SD for the weekend and stayed with my family at the Marriott on Coronado. It is located right on the harbor so we had the privilege or gazing at all the many boats that passed by. The best was when we were on our jet ski and a HUGE navy ship coasted by.

The trip consisted of:

-Visiting Velo Cult to get the perfect basket for Ruby
-Laying out by the pool
-Jet Skis out on the ocean
-Dinner at BJ's for Danielle's 21st birthday celebration
-Games in Mom and Dad's hotel room
-Watching Dad drift in and out of sleep while watching terminator and "shush-ing" us every few minutes
-Playing tennis
-Riding Bikes around the island (Ruby did wonderfully)
-Hot tubbing it up
-Dinner at Busters
-Yummy cookies from a random cookie shop
-Killer ice cream sundaes from some diner with an Elvis statue out front
-A trip to Phil's BBQ (The BEST ribs ever)

Enjoy the photos...

Last Night

We had these for dinner. Tyler used a bit too much sauce so he got pretty messy. I used just the right amount and enjoyed myself without getting totally covered in marinara. All the ingredients were purchased from TJs and the meatballs are turkey meatballs... only 100 calories for two big ones!

She has Arrived...

Flown in all the way from Holland. We saw her at Velo Cult in SD and knew we had to have her. We ordered her from a local bike shop and now she is here.
Tyler and I have been patiently awaiting her arrival for weeks. He called the bike shop last week and they said it would arrive this week so we were very excited. Yesterday I asked him to call again to check up on things and he sent me a text later on to tell me he was going to pick it up tomorrow (Wednesday). I was so excited! I got home from school and relaxed for a bit before taking a shower. While getting ready I heard a knock on my patio door, I threw on a robe and it turned out to be big sister Kimberly just stopping by to say hello. We chatted for a bit and I went back to getting ready.
A few minutes later I heard another knock on my door... and I heard a lady's voice. This was getting strange. I opened the door and to my surprise Cindy (my mother in law) was there, then Tyler walked in with my beautiful ruby red bicycle! He pulled off a great surprise! I was so happy! Tyler had told his mom about getting me the bike as a graduation gift so his parents decided to go in on it with him. I am so grateful for such great family who supports me in my educational endeavors and for such a wonderful present! This weekend we are going to San Diego and I would have had to rent a bike for the family bike ride, but now I get to ride this beauty around! Hooray!

P.S. Tyler made me ride it across the apartment just for fun. The rest of the night he probably got on it like 10 times. He loves it. I love him.

Hard Corps

Here is the update on the triathlon that Devin and Tyler competed in. Unfortunately Tyler sprained his ankle about 10 days before the race and wasn't back to 100% on race day, but he did an outstanding job. We headed down there with the Dicksons and met up with some other friends once we got there. It was a good day and all the boys did great! I am so proud of Tyler for pushing so hard even when his ankle was hurting him and his back tire was flat (for most of the race). It was great fun to see all those boys work so hard. And Devin... you look great in your UNI!!!

Love you Tyler! I am proud of you!
