I Wish...

I was taking a nap on a hammock instead of sitting here at my desk at work.

I was done with school.

I could afford to quit my job and take photography classes.

I wish I had enough money to buy a house.

I could open all the windows in my nonexistent house to feel the breeze as I rock my nonexistent baby to sleep...

All very good wishes, but all in the future. I do not particularly enjoy feeling discontent and lately I have been dreaming of better days instead of these days. I have been praying a lot for a better attitude because I know I have some more climbing to do before I reach the top of this mountain that I am on. I'm sure I am not the only one who feels this way, but it sure stinks.

Hey Amy, trust me, I know how you are feeling!! I'm all about that. I've been trying really hard to be content with my life as it is. I'm trying to enjoy where we are at right now as far as the house and lack of babies goes. I'm enjoying that we have hardly any responsibilities! Haha. That's why I am planning a vacation and stuff. It keeps my mind off of the other things that I want but are not in my control. You'll get through this, don't worry! I bet when we have a house and a family we will look back on these times and think "Man, we had it good back then!" :-) The grass is always greener...

I think wishing for the future is a good thing. There's always so much to look forward to. I think it's those wishes that keep you motivated to do what you gotta do now. Kind of like painting or cleaning is hard work, but it's so worth it.

Don't be too hard on yourself. I think you have a great attitude and are moving in the right direction. All good things will come your way sooner or later. ( =

Also, you are welcome to come rock my babies, decorate my house (or even clean it!), open my windows and let the breeze in anytime. Seriously. I wish I could spontaneously catch a movie or shop w/o kids!
