So last Saturday I had the pleasure of taking photos of Shira's son Colton for his birth announcement. Luckily we got some pretty amazing shots. I am very happy with the results. Shira and Devin love them too which is even better! I dropped by the disc of all the shots the other night and also made them a dvd slideshow set to music that had some pitures from the maternity sesh we did, some hospital shots and then some from Colton's very own photoshoot. Both parents really liked it. I am so happy! I love that I was able to capture such special moments. Thanks Colton for being so darn cute and a good subject!

Last weekend we got to take our neice Taylor and our friend Corey to the Circus at the Honda Center. It was such a fun night. Corey is seriously one of the funniest people in the world. Definitely a really cool 7 year old. We went to Mimi's for dinner before and then as soon as we sat in our seats the kids said they were hungry. Go figure. So we go out during intermission to get a snack and it ends up costing an obscene amount of money. Corey bought a shaved ice for $9 and we bought Taylor a $7 box of popcorn. I pretty much learned that the circus robs small children. But it was fun. And we even made it out in time to catch some of the Angel's stadium fireworks! We had such a fun time with Tay while she was here from Hawaii. We miss her.

Last Weekend my family headed down to San Diego for a short vacation in honor of Kimberly's graduation from GIA (Gemology Institute of America). Thursday was Sea World and the gas lamp district, Friday was lunch for my Dad's birthday, Kim's graduation and a bbq in Oceanside, and Saturday was a little bit of laying out by the pool and then the drive home. It was a really fun, short trip, but I am grateful to have had at least just a couple days to relax. I went on a couple sea breeze jogs (which makes me want to do everything I can to move to the coast) and I got to see grandpa and grandma who came down from Arizona! Tyler had a big test on Saturday morning and class on thursday night so he was only able to stay for part of the day friday, but it was worth it because he said he feels pretty confident that he did well on the test! And I even got a little color! Hooray! Thanks to everyone who made the trip so fun! :)

Today is my wonderful Father's 56th Birthday. I love him so very much. He always knows how to make me laugh. He is kind. He is loving. He is giving. He is my Papa and I am so grateful for him and my mother and the way they raised me. I owe so much to them. Thanks Dad for being who you are and teaching me so much. I Love You!

This weekend was quite magical due to the fact that Tyler and I both had Friday off of work and we were able to relax, spend time with friends and family, and get some stuff done around the house. The Fourth of July started out by sleeping in. My favorite. I did some cooking/food prep for the gatherings we were headed to later in the day and got some cleaning in before I headed to Kim's house for the pool party. After the pool party we headed home to grab more food to bring to the park where we watched fire works and chatted it up with fam and friends. It was really fun. And a bonus was that Tyler's cousin Christina came down from LA with her husband Justin and their two gorgeous girls Ava and Yara. Here are some shots from the day.

Colton Scott Dickson! Tyler and I got to go see Colton, Shira and Devin today and what a cute little family! And bonus: Shira's brother Devon and his wife Whitney drove down from Utah and they were there too! Shira's brother Tanner and her parents showed up too! It was a party up in there! Some of Devin's family and his long time friend also came by. It was fun to visit and celebrate with the Dickson's whom we love so very much! Shira is tired as expected, but she is doing well and is all smiles as soon as she talks about, holds or looks at her son. I am so proud of her. She went through so much to bring that sweet spirit to earth. What a blessing it is to know that Colton will be raised by loving parents who have a knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am so grateful for the opportunity that little Colton has given me to reflect on the true purpose of everything we do in life. Families can be forever if we will follow the commandments that we have been given. I thought a lot about the Temple and the power of Celestial Marriage. My heart is full of gratitude for my family, for the gospel, and for the example of such a strong woman, my beloved cousin Shira. Congratulations!!!

On Father's Day we went over to Judd and Cindy's house and Tyler and Cindy made a special dinner for all of us. We gave Judd his present from us while he enjoyed the present Cindy got him (a new flat screen that fits just prefectly in their entertainment unit...Judd LOVES it). Judd liked the shirts we got him so much that he put one on before we sat down for dinner so you can see it in the photo above. Happy Father's Day Judd! We love you!
For Father's day this year we thought we would give ourselves a break and not rush around on sunday to two different dinners... instead we decided to take my dad out to The Cheesecake Factory for dinner to thank him for all of the hard work he does for us and the good example he is. We are so grateful for him and all that he does for us and the fun that we have with him. I am so glad that Tyler and him get along so well. They are two of the most amazing men I know. I am pretty lucky! Thanks dad for everything... you're the best!
We celebrated with Tyler's Mom by taking her to Buster's Beach House in Long Beach. The food was insane! We can't wait to go back! Then we went to check out the sail boat that Tyler has recently aquired. It was a nice sunny day to be out by the beach!
We celebrated Kimberly's 25th Birthday on June 19th in Long Beach. We went to Domenico's for an amazing dinner and then hung out on the beach while Morgan and my Dad attempted to assemble the kite. Apparently a part was missing and therefore there was no flying of the kite, but we at least took some fun pics while we waited!
